Seller beware

Post by EPApolice »

I am sure everyone here has heard of all the scams going around regarding selling bikes on ebay bike point etc.
I am selling an 09 R6 for a mate on bike point at the moment and have been approached twice in the last two days with scams. The first one was a text is the bike still for sale if so email me and we can get this sorted out. So I called the number message bank with a recorded option message so I sent an email. Yes its still available what do you want to know. This is what came back

Thanks for the swift response...i am willing to know the lowest price of the bike.due to the nature of my job and location...i will not be able to come for inspection,am a very busy type as i work long hours everyday,i have gone through your advertisement and i am satisfied with it.

As per the pick up don't worry about that because i have my own private courier company and the courier services company will will be coming to pick it up.

With the issue of my details, transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the courier services company agent so you don't have to worry about that.

I'll like you to send me your address so that the courier services company can figure it out
and come for the pick up and other necessary things....more so,send me your
PayPal details(PayPal email) so i can pay in.
So I sent a very polite response which I wont post here and anyone that knows me will know why

Today the owner got an email from another site where the bike is and fowarded it on to me this is it

From: stephencollins15@live.com
Good day,i really like what i saw here on gum tree.and am ready to offer the asking price $13,500 pls get back to me on stephencollins15@live.com

Basically the same as the text I got.

Again I responded and again I wont post the reply.

These scumbags really piss me off

Yep... pretty much the exact words of any of these scams.

They pay via paypal and then put in a dispute claim after the bike/car/boat is gone.
