Left hand bar for 1985 RZ

Post by Lowflying »

Mine was already a bit bent when I bought it. Probably easier to install a straight one than to try and straighten.

Depends how bad it is, Ive straightened them pretty easily if you put them back on the bike and use a rubber mallet.

Some might say the steel can become brittle doing that. but its not moving much and if there is only one bend it should be fine.

Im also considering having new bars welded to some of the badly bent units i have as these parts are now long NLA :(

Hmm. Mine look they've been through a bingle, and somebody's already had a go at straightening them. I guess I could give it another go.

How about aftermarket? Anything that would fit?

If they look bad and you dont trust them, then maybe see if someone will weld new bars on the stubs.

I picked up new steel the same spec off ebay for cheap a while back, just didnt get round to looking for a welder when the other bars i had were only bent once and would straighten.

Certainly nothing lost by getting the rubber mallet out ;)
