I wouldn't worry about that my 3XV SP has the same and they are right on top of each other.

What sort of pipes are they? Not sure about the blue engine casings

and no divider plate inside it?EPApolice wrote:I wouldn't worry about that my 3XV SP has the same and they are right on top of each other.

the following 4T propaganda was brought to you by your local 2T lobby group...
"whats that youve got there?... a 450? "
yeah...
"what cereal packet did that come out of? "
huh?...
"I just wanted to know, because theres nothing worse than finding a piece of shit in the bottom of your corn flakes. "

the pipes are custom made cone pipes due to the small clearance to the front wheel.EPApolice wrote:What sort of pipes are they? Not sure about the blue engine casings
however fred99999 from this forum will hopefully lend me his wicked motorsports RZ421 pipes sometime soon to do a trial fit
yeah the crank cases are done with industrial Teflon, the cylinders are done with black heat dispersal coating and the cases are color matched to the bodywork in some industrial glossy paint.
the cases not look too tacky in real life, but I know what your mean,
I think a powdery matt gun metal grey would look much better.

Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
No I can put in finger straight into the outlet. There are two outlets at the top under the cap, the lower one is capped off and there is one at the bottom on the other side
Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
oh, so from what I understand, your radiator is different.
you have two outlets on the right and 1 inlet on the left?
so all flows have to pass through the radiator core?
I've found what I think MIGHT be a deformation where a divider could be. but Ill check for sure in the next week or two.
The radiator was made by a engineer who does alot of custom fabrication for bikes and he seems to know his stuff so Ill give him the benifit of the doubt untill I proove otherwise

It's a dual pass radiator, the rad is effectively divided in half acroos to the left on top and back to the right on the bottom.
Make sure you run a thermostat, the ultimate is to put the by-pass thermostat in

let me know when you want the pipes Jeram. I also have one of those mini camera bendy look into the wall things if you want to have a look inside the rad.
Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
Got my box of goodies from the seller this week!

First off, I fitted the Two Stroke Shop dual pickup stator and flywheel

Only things left to do is waiting for some short counter sunk screws to turn up in the post to neatly (neater) mount it to the cases
Then ill need to get the side cover welded to the side plate (blue section) with a shaped piece of ally welded over the hole as I had to cut through both of them to fit this set up.
It was a bit of a butcher job, but once a patch is welded over the top to make it water tight it should look pretty good.
Ill probably consider getting both side covers repainted black to make it more of a 'sleeper'

Then in the next week or so il be wiring the bike up.
I got a few meters of 5 core wire today which should keep the loom very neat and tidy.

Then Ill start shopping for a new battery (lithium ion probably) and some new denso 'iridium racing' spark plugs which are no longer $50 each and more like $30 for two. thanks to a japanese online store
Should only be a month till she roars to life again, then I can move onto the suspension.

Going to hopefully wire the bike up tonight!
Should take too long considerin that there's no servos or tps, just charging system, pickups, coils, and tacho.

Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
did a bit of spring cleaning this week on the bike. pulled the swingarm and shock out of the bike so I could thoroughly clean them up

I also got the modified side cover back today which is great considering it didn't cost me a cent.
Should look great with a coat of satin black paint

THe pipes are also off the bike as I want to clean them up a little and also trial fit Fred99999's Wicked racing RZ pipes to see if they'll fit

Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
Just got myself some very very trick bodywork from Japan after a bidding war
bolts straight onto the stock TZR subframe with the addition of some small brackets.
Is a replica of the TZ250 S/T's and does a bit of an 'optical illusion' where the tank look smaller like a TZ250 tank as the seat unit wraps around the tank, and through raising the seat height significantly.
heres the unit:
not bad for 120 bucks
gotta love the Japanese!

heres one on a TZR:

should have this seat unit before Xmas.

Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
Jeram, that looks very cool!Tell me what something like would cost in postage from Japan? As I see alot of really good parts etc,but postage waaayyy up there?
Also interested in who/how the front eng mounts made?
Id go back to PSB for alook at the build thread but couldnt be arsed because of some of the d/h's on that site.

Re: New toy (TZR421) is on its way!!!
postage isnt too bad from Japan, much cheaper than stuff from the USA.
a 3ma frame was 200 postage, I wouldnt even dream of asking how much that would be from the USA.
a 3ma swing arm was around 120 I think
This newest piece of body work will be around $160 postage which will make it around $280 bucks landed, not bad at all if you ask me
The front mounts as laser cut aluminium plate which both acts as the radiator mounts and engine mounts.
it mounts to the frame via some lugs up near the head-stock where the stock cradle attaches.
The top rear mount is stock with a some spacers
The bottom rear mount is custom fabricated aluminium and looks like a more robust version of the stock RZ engine mount.
If you want some specific pics just let me know while the bike is torn down as I can take them for you easily.
The mounts were all made by GAVIN from GD engineering, hes a member of PSB forum.
