The ATAC valves arrived in the post from the CNC shop in NZ.
For my first 3D CAD design, these have turned out really well, I'm very happy.
I should have them on the dyno soon and then once proven if anyone wants a set I will be happy to supply.
All that I need to do to them now is connect up the linkages to solenoids and make some 200cc canisters for each valve.
due to the radiator being so large I think the valves will be positioned this way so the canisters have plenty of room
the following 4T propaganda was brought to you by your local 2T lobby group...
"whats that youve got there?... a 450? "
yeah...
"what cereal packet did that come out of? "
huh?...
"I just wanted to know, because theres nothing worse than finding a piece of shit in the bottom of your corn flakes. "
In other news, I spent the last few nights tidying up the wiring and swapping the fuses for 10A circuit breakers.
I ordered a 190CCA, 8AH, 750gram Lithium Ion battery for the bike which my old man picked up today for me (hes got industry contacts as he's an automotive/industrial LED light dealer)
The tank had a few dents which I bogged up and sanded back ready for painting.
I've got a goal to have it ready to start this weekend and take it to the drags (without the ATAC valves) at heathcote park on the 28th of this month.
Should be fun!

We need GoPro video or it didnt happen Jeram lol....
Just a thought, would your egt senders be able to be fitted into the ATAC valves?Or would they be sending wrong temp readings from the valve opening/closing?
Not knocking,just a thought....
yeah they would certainly fit onto the atac valves and Lozza and I discussed this very thing last week
only problem is that my EGTs are currently clamped EGTs not threaded bung EGTs and I dont have time right now to convert it over
you know what they say, genius's think alike LOL

cleaned up the wiring
half installed the new 9AH lithium ion batter
EGTs are all hooked up
and the ignition now has spark
I've bought some gear oil to pop in the motor later today and am striping/painting the tank today also.
Not much really to do now apart from putting some foam under the seat to protect the fiberglass.
So its looking like Ill be making it to the drags next weekend!

Yes, can confirm that is sounds dangerous and the paint is in need of re-doing... Mind you it sounded dangerous before it exploded last time as well. Might sponge a ride after you have proven that it wont hand grenade again (I don't want to be blamed for that).
Lo ts of gremlins reared their head at the races on the weekend.
I think everything that could have gone wrong went wrong
-A dead short apeared in the wiring which drained the battery (disconnected all the OEM wiring and ran total loss straight off the battery)
-kinked fuel lines
-broken fuel Y-peice
-not enough fuel getting to carbs (connected both fuel lines from tank directly to carbs to get enough flow capacity)
-clutch still dragging a little (I know how to fix this now, its the internal clutch adjuster, not the cable)
And another electrical gremlin reared its head which prevented me from doing a clean run which is a pain in the arse because I think I got the jetting fairly close.
Bit frustrated with it so am going to leave it for a week or so and then I suppose I will rewire the bike to remove any elec issues (ie: simplify the wiring so all thats left is the battery, fuse, ignition, ignition switch and ignition coils) and open up the clutch to make internal adjustments.
Once thats done Ill probably do some dyno time before venturing out on the track.
Theres nothing worse than having 2 thousand people cheering that a loud a fuck two stroke is about to go down the track and then have it stall at the startline!
embarrassing!
Ill be back in a month with a clean running bike and a decent paint job and hopefully a dyno sheet!

Well done, at least you got it there, sounds like you rushed to get it up and running and were snagging on the fly, no shame there, at least you have a list to work on
Looking forward to next episode
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.
thanks mate, yeah was a little rushed but you know what, it only cost me $60 bucks for the race day so not a huge loss.
And yes, now I have a definitely fix list for the bike to get her perfect
but best of all, having a deadline for that race made me get 1 month of work done in 1 week.
things to do now:
-rewire the bike
-adjust the clutch
-install a Pingel high flow fuel tap
-buy a new tank from japan
-paint the bike
-dyno the bike

Have you checked the float valve size or set the float level? After I thought about it and read that about the fuel tap I thought it might be lack of fuel

except that my parts turned up and work!
