TZR engine compatability 2MY and 3XV

HI .. have a question about engine compatibility amongst the various TZR250 models...

I have a spare 2MY engine (88' model) and looking at buying a 3XV roller (91' model).

Would the 2MY engine bolt right into the 3XV (91) roller...?

Any help appreciated...

Wasn't the 3XV a v-twin?

I can't see a parallel engine bolting into the same mounts as a v-twin.
