The yellow dot is a 350, the yellow solid panel is a +18% for my 421...
Sorry BRG, I only do the Yamaha pumps of the type shown and the tzr pumps, but not including the 3XV type.BRG1200 wrote:Great, keep us posted. I like the extension of the yellow dot principle!
Tossing up whether to go nuts and get the RG250 going now, or the RZ250 to 350 upgrade. Can't do both right away but if RZ wins I'm planning on using Arrows services.
Hey Arrow, can you redo an RG250 pump?
Turns out the RG pump lives behind the bloody gearbox sprocket and the cover plate that should be there is missing = pump caked in oily gritty crud.
May be one day. I studied the Yamaha pumps in great detail after the issues I had with my 250e five years ago. The Yamaha pumps alone keep me "rather" busy, but in any case I always state that "he who specialises in too many things specialises in nothing".BRG1200 wrote:Ah, might I suggest diversification...?
RG seems easier, doesn't look like it needs an engine rebuild, RZ does. Other than that, a dodgy front tyre and a very iffy front brake the RZ is essentially OK, but that lot is going to cost a small fortune.JonW wrote:sounds like your decision on which bike to build has been made BRG...
I do order quite a few bits from Bikebiz in Parramatta. They are quite good even with stuff that has to come from Japan. I do get most of the RD stuff from Norbo in the UK, but I am also working on restoring 2x XJ750 Seca and not much parts forthose in Australia. Interestingly,as it works out, a lot of the parts are interchangeable between the RD350LC and the XJ750.jools58 wrote:Back to the crank seals - I just bought 2 pairs of genuine LC RH & LH seals for $104 delivered from Bikebiz in Paramatta, ordered by phone Thursday arrived on Monday. Thats not a bad price in my book.
After piston failure at Phillip Island recently. The LH seal seemed loose, can't remember now if it was a Yambits or not - it was built 4 years ago !!
A crack in the piston crown led to serious meltdown but was it the leaky seal caused the crack or just the cruisin image piston.....RH side was perfect.
