Jeez Arrow, sounds like you've been doing your homework.
I'm reasonably sure the pump I bought is the right model, saw photo of the (Canadian) 31k I bought it off along with other bits.
though externally they're not easy to differentiate, to my eye anyway.
OK, I since discovered a local breaker has a box of 4L pumps, would it be worth grabbing a couple?
I'll send you a PM
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

Recently bought a rz250r and the thing is eating oil, about 1lt for 250kms.
Ouch! Looks as if the plunger is not returning all the way out. Least I know it pumps oil ok! just loads of it.
How would one adjust the return on one of these or is it a good clean up that would help it return better?
Hooray 1st post!
James.

4L pumps? Only a yellow paint mark correctly identifies the 350 pump, and nothing else. This tells you what gear is in the pump itself. They can be fitted with many pulleys. Three types of 4L1 and two types of 1M1.

Ah o.k. doesn't suprize too much as nearly every thing on the bike needs a full overhaul. I've managed to get the plunger rubber ,oring and base gasket for it but now thinking better to send it off for someone that really knows the pumps or the other option being stuck miles from home is not overly exciting.

I met a girl the other week who asked me where I was from. It worked out best for me to say 'Cheshire, UK' at the time (for various reasons), and she said 'Oh cool, I really liked Cheshire Oaks!'. 'That's close to Arrow... he re-builds great pumps!' said I. She decided to work the room. Chicks it seems might dig scars, some even have a passing interest in bikes.... but they really do like shopping more...
