Yes. I don't think it is enough for him yet.
There is over $800 in new engine parts in it.
It also comes with the original seized Polini 160cc cylinder with good head and power valve blade.

LOL, Jeram, I'll loan you the tank if i win it...

Sadly no matter what he has in it, its still a no working bike... to be honest if he has the parts he should fix it up, he will get more money. if you have 'all the parts needed' and dont fix it, buyers wonder what else you found was broken and hence you giving up... just my 2c.

The saga of the Mito and why it isn't finished.

A few years ago a couple of youngish single guys who were best mates decided to get their motorbike licence.
One worked with me and asked lots of questions about what bike to get.
He came over to see my bikes and really liked a red TZR250 I had bought as a road bike before circumstances changed.
He nagged me until I sold it to him but we restored it first and I taught him how to work on his bike.
His friend thought it was great and also wanted a red two stroke and so he bought the Mito.
One day my friend got a call from his best mate who was stopped on the side of the road with the Mito not going.
We picked it up with my trailer and took it back to my place to see what the problem was.
It had run out of two stroke and seized.
Being a sucker I said I would help him fix it but I would not fix it myself but I would teach him how to maintain it himself.
Then my wifes mum died. I became husband and mum.
The Aussie Mito parts supplier had problems with his overseas supplier and over 6 months passed before we gave up on him and bought directly from UK.
By then the Mito guy was married.
Things progressed slowly as our wives often had better things for us to do.
Eventually we had the crank rebuilt and the engine core together but the squish was 3.5mm with the thinnest gasket.
Your local bike shop would probably ignore this but the manual said it should be 1.2mm so we spend another two months machining it down so it was just right.
But then his baby came along and his wife doesn't want him to work on it anymore.
And over two years down the track I have no time to help him anymore either.
And I need the space in the shed.
Doug is down to 2 days a week and is busy doing instrument repairs and so he doesn't want to finish it either.
So I put up this post so see what interest there was for an easy low kilo project.

Sorry to hear its been a saga, some bikes just dont work with ones other drivers in life. :(

Anyway, my advice still stands... get it running, sorry but then you will get real money for it, im doing myself out of a deal maybe but its the truth. Like it is, even with all the parts and work done it is still a project for someone and for the buyer it has a bunch of unknowns, like all unfinished projects.

It may seem it but im really not being funny with you on this, i am actually trying to help... One more push and a day of work and you guys might come out alright on the thing, else its going to be a cheap project i fear.

Sure id love it, but Mitos are funny things, there were a lot of versions and a lot of parts only fit one model so ebay isnt always your friend etc. Anyway, if its cheap id give it a go... drop me an email if you want to talk, especially if you fancy a part trade on it with my MT250 :)

I have no time at all for it. And he cannot do it himself.

I need to get this sorted using the limited time I get:

if you cant put it back together you are far better off parting her out...

Ill give you 200 just for the tank ;)

engine, frame, pipe, fairings, wheels, suspension will all fetch a couple/few hundred each on ebay

can quiet easily make some good money :)

Did someone say 'good head'?

Seriously though Mark:

this is getting tedious............
you have spent more time telling us stories about the Mito, your mate his mate your wife his wife his baby (did I miss anyone?) oh yes a Mother or two....., than it would have taken to rebuild the silly little single - unless of course the parts you need to rebuild it ain't there in the box!

As far as I can tell if you and your mate actually wanted to sell the bike as opposed to frig around posting post after post after post after post after post after post then you would have either put a price on it or listed it on ebay.

So how much? And can you deliver to EC at BSFOS?

If I put it together in time for BSFOS then I won't get my new TZR250 finished in time.
$1200 ono and I will find a way to get it to BSFOS.
It is all there once I get the stator back. Stator needs a wire soldered.
