I just presume everyones lying on ebay and always factor in a rebuild that way I'm not dissapointed. 9k was good for the G, good for me anyway now I know the range for mine.
I think the aircooled RDs are a better bike than the LCs, not as fragile and just about as fast.

I really will have to adjust my way of thinking - to reassess my sense of value - to understand the whims of the market.

I thought this was a $1000 bike or maybe a $1500 if some one wanted to relive their youth.

It went for $3600 8O .

Sometime ago I saw this for $3000 and thought it was a great buy and they couldn't give it away.

Ebay is a funny place, I listed my RD400c only yesterday, within 12 hrs I have 120 watchers and no less than 8 messages asking my sell now price, when the bike is listed without a reserve. As I have said before it amazes me the SR500 and Sr400 that are going for high 5k not even to bring up the Deus things at those over the top prices. Will see what nibbles I get from my add this time.

8/10 (I'm not fussed on the seat  ).

It will be interesting to watch. Based on current market I would guess $5-7000. Now don't get too excited - as I said, my sense of the market is pretty confused.

But Deus seems to have created a market for the customised and the unusual - like customised TW200 8O  . There seems to be a inner urban yuppie market out there seeking the 'cool', with the taste for the customised and the money but not the time and/or talent to produce the goods. This would tick all the boxes and be a half way decent ride :D .

I think this is the changing factor. Once upon a timean original resto's got more money then customised bikes despite the customised often been a better emended samples and with more time and money tied up in them. Things might be changing - but I think the market for 'cool' might be fairly fickle.

Good luck - I watch with interest  .

Yeh I still have the Standard seat and may sell that with the bike, but as the add says it has "single seat rego". Gotta say , you do get a lot of exposure on ebay, I have been answering questions since I got home!!

I was one of those watchers, more out of curiosity than wanting to buy - knew it'd be out of my range for another bike... I've got a couple of things on the go anyway

My RD is a right mess

Why wouldn't you have a go when people are paying silly money for them?

silly money or not,you have to ask why people are prepared to pay it?

Coz they're as silly as the prices are.
It happened in the UK... maybe it's all the UK migrants starting to buy them out there :)

Did you see the Q & A's 8)

"Q: Not being rude .. i would take what you can get for it , speacking to a friend in the uk he said there is still some in crates over there never open , if this is ture or not im not sure .... im looking into it .. Happy Selling :) 23-Jul-12

A: Mate ,Trying not to be offensive, but could you tell your carer your medication is due.."

".....there is still some in crates over there never open ......" Yeah, believe that and I have a nice bridge I can sell you :P .

$7600 with 4 days to go. Mine is not as original but is as good in appearances (even if I do say so myself).

I must get my finger out and try my luck (and the market).

Once a bike becomes semi desirable, there always seem to be the "there are some in crates" story popping up. I think I have heard it on just about every model.......... Even ones that never came in crates..hahahah
