If you want one of these tanks, I can assist.

postage will be around 100 AUD.
You can convert the prices from yen to aud by typing "1000 yen in aud" into Google.
Add a fee of 20% on top of item and postage to cover the importers fees and commissions

I havnt done it myself, but I've seen a Harley mechanic do it to a blown up sportster and it looked perfect.

Itd just be a matter of neatly removing the existing numbers, then stamping the the numbers on.

you'd probably need to practice on some scrap aluminium first untill you get your stamp positioning good :)
Id imagine this would be best achieved by clamping a peice of flat bar to the cases to keep the stamps in line and then mark the flat bar where each stamp has to sit to get the correct spacing.

whether or not its easier/cheaper to weld the cases or replace them I cant really say. but I'd imagine if you were to replace the cases your motor would probably benefit from atleast some near main bearings while your in there? so kill two birds with one stone?

I wouldnt worry about the little lines, who cares?

if you absolutely had to have the lines you could try stripping the paint of that part of the case, scratch the surface lightly with a wire brush, then apply metal epoxy over the numbers, fix up the lines in the metal with a small diegrinder bit, then stamp your new numbers.

then paint over it,

done.
