How do you tackle pitted / rusty fork stanchions?
I have a lot of Yammy spares lying around and I found a usable pair. However, these days replacement inner tubes are dirt cheap.

Had a set of forks in my shed that I have fitted as the originals had rusted beyond use from weather damage. I stripped and overhauled the calipers, now starting to get a bit more bolted up. Dropped the bottom end back in after seal replacement. Big ends felt fine.

Yambits are 100 pounds each plus delivery... So there's $370 + delivery which would be a $100 touch I'd guess.
Each to their own I suppose, my bike is to keep and RAD did a great job.

The build looks great, by the way!

Norbo sells them for 85 pounds each plus delivery(possibly more now) , but that was when our conversion rate was much better aswell, i got rad to do mine at the time it was $300, about the same to import new ones from memory. A mate just imported some new ones for his cb750 for $149 delivered for the pair, that was a great price i think. ken

I used RD125LC forks,, same, same 33mm and are much cheaper if you shop around. 35GBP , I think from Yambits , cheaper if you web shop about.
Also from memory Mikes XS has a pair of 35mm inners for about $140 USD.

I am using the wheels I got with the bike mate, the only parts that were short in the basket of bits was the CDI, the exhausts, and the seat! So I am on the hunt for something there.

Yes Ken, I am lucky to have some machine tools at my disposal, but when it comes down to it they are simply thick wall chrome tube, so these pricks charge some high prices for stuff when they think you can not get it anywhere else. When I see high prices I always look at what I can make fit from other models. :drink:

Got the wiring loom and gauges hooked up today. I have opted for the low bars and now about to tackle the switch gear.

surprisingly these little bikes are very easy to work on, I am not out to do this and beat any records, really it just seems easy to clean up stuff make sure its serviceable, paint it if necessary, and bolt it back onto the frame. The bike was stripped in parts when I got it so a lot of that side was done for me, it is a matter of finding what I need or repairing :)
