2 Strokes Down Under

i should have said that you can upgrade to the ypvs top end if you fit a whole ypvs engine, its been done a lot in the uk and they call it a hybrid on there. I have one in my yellow LC, but i then fitted bigger cylinders and long throw crank to make it 421cc. I dont care that my 421 isnt original, im building an original bike to sit next to it in the garage... and some might say it has a value of its own

Doubt I'll ever do anything like that just want to fix it and throw my leg over a road going 2 stroke. I've only riden dirt 2 strokes

Just for a comparison, my 350 LC had been stood for 15 years before I got it, the guy I bought it off had the crank checked and new OEM seals fitted, also a top end rebuild done, the bike had done 22,000km, it took me a while to get it running right, but it was mainly the carbs that were the problem, I also replaced the oil pump, and clutch for piece of mind, I've done 2,500km on it now in just over a year, it draws a crowd every where I go which I find quite funny

Good luck with getting yours up and running, it's well worth it, there certainly doesn't seem to be many of them left here in Oz

Is it all stock. Did you bolt on some pipes or anything?
I do love the sound of a 2 stroke wouldn't mind down the track bolting on some after market pipes.
Hope that doesn't grind some of the purests.

Nothing wrong with aftermarket pipes, you can get modern ones that work but look, well, modern, or older ones that sort of work that look period... Get some microns or allspeeds, i would... they just look so good on these bikes.

Yeah mate the bike is in standard spec including the pipes, as Jon says though and I do agree, that a set of Microns or Allspeeds do look smart

think ive reignited the father in laws interest in the bike after 30 years. he has striped back the handle bars.
