You sure about the carbon Jon? I thought Carbon was lighter but Aluminium was quieter.
Re: Hello from Central West NSW
I dont have any empirical evidence but I read it somewhere, where they said it absorbed the pressure wave rather than bouncing it, but ive no real proof... happy to learn more of course

Thats them. Like carbon pushie frames they are actualy stiffer but absorb the bumps better.JonW wrote:These were the biggest of the Tygas I could find Lozza, are these the ones you mean?

I take it you fellas whingeing 'bout loud H-D's were havin' a bit of a lend..
After all, its not like most non-stock 2T's are actually anywhere near 'Honda' quiet.
Here's a tip, if you have a compliance issue - & still have some shitty old factory stamped
pipes, cut out the factory stamped compliance codes & attach 'em skilfully to your pipes.
Point 'em out to the copper.. "You can read, can't ya.. see, they're factory bloody ADR stock!"
Or, if you get a ticket stating you must present to the EPA for a compliance check,
ride your mint/resto stocker down there ( with the rego plate which got the ticket)..
Its a bit of a laugh when the inspector says..
"But jeeze, that's bloody factory standard - ok, she's right, on your way.."
