I think that colour scheme or a varient of it will work out well, I like the black on the bottom with the white yamaha decal.
It's a good feeling when you can start assembling clean / new parts and see the bike taking shape.

Anyway, I've been working on the frame while waiting for engine parts to arrive and got the frame finished today.
I can now start bolting bits on permanently so I'm pretty chuffed!
Yeah, I like that a lot!

Good progress phill. excellent build quality. Are you using the original rz side stand? Allways wondered how much the frame is lowered with the rgv suspension /wheel combination?

Thanks for the positive comments, any encouragement helps!

Gman, the forks are slightly shorter than stock so the front is a little lower but the rear height is determined by the dog legs which I've made to suit the ride height I wanted. Standard side stand luckily works well. I'm thinking of fabricating a new one to fix some clearance issues with the gear shifter, so will have to see how that turns out.
I'm also planning to fabricate some replacement rear sets as these are chinese ones and are flexing a bit.

Progress looks fast as these are all the big bits! I'm into the smaller bits now so changes will appear slower. I do try to do something every night and most weekends, so have a very understanding missus. Helps that I can do 95% of the work myself, just have to wait for bits to be delivered from overseas!

Progress shots. Lots of little jobs. Mounted custom oil tank, fabricated a battery box, repainted switchgear & fabricated a dash for new instruments. (cardboard template in photo).
Waiting for Zeeltronic ign and other bits to be delivered before starting to redo the wiring loom.

Photobucket has changed their terms of use and have now blocked photo references in other sites (forums) !!
Major pain in the butt to move all my pics to Flickr and edit all my previous posts. I'm working on it but may take some time.

In the meantime, latest update is that front brakes are all refurbished, repainted and working. :)
Rear caliper refurbished and just waiting on master refurb kit to arrive.
Engine completely finished and holding oil so far. Cooling system to be filled tomorrow.

Ignition switch fitted with a spacer I made on the lathe and handlebar switches cleaned up and repainted.
Dash and instruments fitted. Zeeltronic and dyna coils arrived and just waiting to be mounted and wired in.

I'm waiting on some electrical connectors and fuse box to arrive and then will start on the re-wiring.
After the wiring, I should be able to start the motor. eek!!
