RD350LC Petrol tanks. Repair/replace?

This is what the indians said when I asked after an LC tank.

Odd considring that the first and fourth pictures in the Ad are LC tanks (I think)

The Indian guys seem keen, but I'm not sure I'd send my one and only tank as a pattern. If I had a shit one, beyond repair, but good enough for them to use, I'd be happy to send the fucker.
I want a good LC, to be honest, I couldn't care if the side panels are pattern, the levers are from Yambits, the indians made my tank, and the bleedin colours are wrong for the year... I just want a bike to ride. Lets be honest, standard 350LCs were really just a blank canvas waiting to be tamperd with.

Well I have been provoided a tank which is not in great shape by another member. We may be able to send that to the Indian chappy and negotiate a deal on his sample. if its anywhere near acceptable, we could provide him with a consolidated business proposition. I know of at least thee guys needing tanks here in Sydney to start with.

A potentialy lifesaving tip for those wanting to weld a tank is purging of the inside of the tank. One cheap and cheerful method is to run a long hose from the car exhaust into the tank. That pushes out any dangerous fumes as well as a fairly inert atmosphere inside the tank.

Just be a bit wary of this as I have heard this this could be worse than air in some circumstances, depending on what the car is doing at any point and what concentration of unburned fuel is in the exhaust mix.

Well you heard wrong. Unless your daily driver is a Model T Ford the instance of unburnt fuel in a modern cars exhaust gas will be very very minute.
Major component of exhaust gas is Nitrogen 71% Co2 14% H2O 12% CO 1-2% Hydrocarbons <0.25%
Nitrogen being a inert gas is perfect for shielding gas, sheilding gas has to be free of O2 which car exhaust has none of.

I think the point that was made to me, which I posted above, is that there is a potential for this to be a problem.
