I wouldn't believe that person any more, the RWU RGV fork is just a plain damper rod fork. USD would be the same principal but not the same internals.
The best set of 250 forks are the Aprilia RS250 Mk2 Showa's

And started to sort out the undertray and rear lights (cause I cant do anything up front now till I get the shocks back and some new bearings)

Hmmm... Do the 'prilia forks fit the RGV triples?

Ahh yes the perennial build, dismantle, change, rebuild cycle... I know it well... its the curse of doing custom bikes... much simpler to restore! LOL

Eeek... At least he was willing to negotiate, that's crazy for him to do that without so much as a phone call. In the UK if the dealer does work or replaces parts that you didnt sanction you can have them for free. Most poeple accept a small variance on a quite, like you did, but more than double is mental.
