Those carbs look like he ones on the catalytic USA market bikes, though I'm sure I've seen them in wreckers over here.

Hey pete i just fitted michelin pilot actives to my rz350 and they are spot on. rear is now 120. If you fit he brakes you got take the bike to whoever makes the lines as if you get the fittings out a few degrees with braided they wont twist to fit. I fitted fzr3ln brakes and master (straight bolt on) and had to take the bike in too get lines made correctly, after first lot were slightly out! bike now stops great. shits on old rz brakes. got braided rear made at same time.

Has you RZ got a round headlight or square? and where are you located? Ive also been reading some other posts and the word is standard tyres handle better than wider ones so i put in an order with Balmain Motorcycles for some Avon Roadrider AM26 90/90/18 and 110/80/18. Should be there in a few days. The Dunlops thet came with the bike still have plenty of tread but are 14 years old and hard as buggery. Cant wait to change over. The progressive fork springs I fitted are a little harder than the stock but I put in 20W oil so I'm going to try some 10W oil which should just about be right.

The carbies turned out to be Mikuni VM26SS which are also used on certain Kawasaki's in a four carb setup and on some of the Banshee engines but with different jets. Also found an excellent thread on jetting by Ben Boal on a Banshee forum which even I could understand. Explained why the bike had been running smoothly on a cool day but rough when the weather got hot.

Thanks for the info re the braided lines. Will pay a visit to my engineer buddy to see what can be done.

forgot to add have just fitted 40 tooth rear sprocket and have 16 on front. much better than standard. i fitted progressive springs from rdlc crazy with 10w oil and front suspension much better. had to dick around a little with adding and takin out oil to get spot on.

My Rz has the round headlight (older 83 31K model). Good choice on the tyres, i've heard the AM26 Avon's are great too, should feel heaps better than your old tyres !
Hopefully the lighter 10W oil makes the front feel better . 15W might be worth considering as well with the heavier springs?
Another thing worth doing is measuring your suspension sag, (heaps of articles on the net) That will give you a good idea of where you stand with setting up the springs and preload.
My old standard shock's sag was approx 50mm with the preload on maximum (Im 85kgs)! I wouldnt mind betting yours is similar.

Well I've fitted the Triumph Calipers to the RZ using the braided lines that came with them. It was pretty straight forward really. Took these pics as we were fitting them but it was too dark by the time we finished so I'll post some tomorrow of the finished job. The banjo fittings needed slight adjustment but ended up fitting ok and Ive got no twists or kinks in the lines and they're working well, and are getting better and better the more they bed in. Ive stuck with the original RZ master cylinder because I had nothing else but after a short test run everything seems to be peaches, certainly a vast improvement to what I had. Hey, that looks like the original guard on the replacement forks.... Could you post a pic or two of how you've mounted that?

It fitted like a glove. My engineer mate reckoned it was the easiest brake replacement he ever seen.

Hi BRG, How can you tell they're replacement forks? I assumed everything on the bike was pretty original. Ill post some guard mount pics tomorrow.
