The DS3 is just too far away to find a buyer which is a shame but I could think of wosre bikes to be unable to sell.
It's on auction again - that twice I know of - passed in each time. Now starting at $4000 with a Buy Now of $4250 - an absolute bargain against that Katoomba 5.
I wish I had a lazy $4000 at the mo. Hmmmm, thinking, thinking, thinking

That YDS3 as been ebay'ed at least twice and been passed in. Well worth the $4000 ask

.
Here's a 5E starting at $7800. Well worth it - must be a 10/10 resto

.

The only thing I would question is the black colour. I don't think the 5E was ever Black - either candy red or candy blue I thought. But it is hard to believe that some one who has gone to this much trouble to do a NOS resto would get it wrong. Regardless, it looks great - nothing quite like black and lotsa chrome for an old bike
It will be interesting to watch - especially since it is not running and need an fork seal

Yea thats a nice bike and they did come in black also. The price is fair but I see that all the time in the club where guys spend a fortune on the resto but run old fork seals that could be 40 years old bearing in mind this guy had to strip the forks to get them rechromed, seals cost $20 max. Also for the price he would really want to have it running right. If I was going to look at that bike and taking the short cut on the forks into consideration I would say the motor hasn't been rebuilt with new seals etc either, more show than go there I suspect.
I think the guy with the DS3 should relist and adjust the price to included shipping to wherever because thats the problem there. Its a shame because that is a good buy

I'll revise that - it is not a 10/10 OEM resto

. Maybe 9/10.
Grips, indicators, shocks, seat, handlebars, rear pillion pegs, rear spokes, mirrors (missing) and maybe more. are not OEM.
$7800 would be top dollar from some one who
really wanted the bike.
It will be interesting to watch
