I've got my eyes on one of them, plus a mattoon clutch cover with the glass window! they're not a bad deal for 195 bucks!

Hey fred,

reckon we're good enough to pull off a Norick Abe paint job on that new tail unit of mine?

Quick update,

All the motor issues are solved, and the motor is pretty much ready to go back into the frame.

the final damage toll was

-cracked clutch cover
-stripped clutch hub threads
-broken clutch spring bolts
-scratched clutch pressure plate
-bend clutch adjuster
-welded clutch rod and ball
-welded and bend clutch actuator arm

All up I got it fixed for around $150

Now I've moved onto modifying the sub-frame for the new tail section as its not a perfect fit as I thought.
So I'll be chopping the rear portion of the subframe with a plasma cutter sometime this fortnight to make it all fit nicely.

I've also been working keenly on building a powervalve for these non-PV cylinders.
Its a component designed for both Cub and Athena style cylinders to boost bottom end and midrange by a considerable amount.

I sent off the CNC files to an engineering shop this week and hope to have the first prototype ready for a trial fitmet in the next month.
I have high hopes for this tried and tested idea (expired Honda patent) as it will allow the cubs to have the mid range of the cheetah motor while still retaining the blistering top end of the cubs.

I hope to have these on the bike for testing by early autumn. perhaps in the future I will be able to offer these for sale

Should have her up and running, tested, dyno'd with the 'powervalves' in time for the Easter Bike Bonanza at Broadford raceway. If that's the case Ill slap on some 125GP slicks and see what she can do around the track!

Cheers,

Well you want to do some testing for me ill put you down for a discounted set as each cylinder (cub, Athena banshe or lc) will require a slightly different resonating chamber volume to move the benefits of the valve to the desired rpm. I can estimate it but it needs confirming.
So I'd just make a full volume one and then you stuff the canister until it works when you want it to.

Anyhow, first things first I have to get mine finished.

All I can say is that is the banshee guys spend a couple hundred on boost bottles that don't do anything I can't imaging how much they would pay for something that actually works! Haha

What are you planning on putting these on Jon? If it is an RZ, are you running Roger's pipes?

We can mock up Athena barrels in an RZ frame with Rogers pipes here if that is the case.

good thinking!

let me know when your free so that we can do some chopping on this TZR subframe :)

dont have one to test dynamically, but I do have a chassis, cases and athena top end to test clearances in an RZ chassis.

Is the LC the hybrid with the RZ cases?

Might be able to do something with the subframe today Jeram. I just got a box of DT175 parts as well, so hoping to put some of that together. YOu anygood with figuring out gearboxen?

Would be real nice if someone here in Oz could make pipes that work instead of paying shit loads for shipping from US or UK....
