Any one using them? Worth the effort expense for road resto use?
What are the differences between brands - different costs, prices.
How many brands are there anyway. I can think of Race Tech and YSS. Any others?

Suffice to say if you DON'T have emulators in your forks you should have your nuts squeezed in a vice. They are without a doubt the best money you can spend. Any dunce with a drill press can install them and away you go.
Race Tech/YSS/Technik valve are all very good for around the $180 mark. If you have smaller 35/36mm forks the XS Mike emulators might be the go for $50 odd and if you have 41mm forks the debrix harley ones are the go. If your forks don't fit those sizes you have to get the brand name.
HOWEVER
Budget on spending a few hunnert on a decent rear shock(s) because they will make the rear feel mighty shitty after they are fitted.

The XS emulators sound like the ticket for a budget upgrade, but I have heard people say they arent that great, has anyone ever compard the proper ones and Mikes?

Have compared the Debrix to YSS and there is no real difference. All the Sv650 crowd use the Debrix models and they all rave about them. If someone says they are not good they are not set up/installed correctly.

All the first gen SV use debrix if they don't want to pay for the racetech ones. Fuel injected SV has different size internals so the debris doesn't work as well.
Well worth sticking emulators in as they control the oil flow in the forks much better. Definitely budget for a rear shock rebuild too.

Mikes XS emulators. 50 bucks, can't beat that, -work very nicely on our bike but I have no comparison with other brands.
(They seem "proper" to me!)

Are any of these suited to RD350LC(4LO) forks, and has anyone used them? I'm just rebuilding mine now, so would be happy to do anything to improve the handling.
Cheers

LC forks are too thin for these I think, unless you can find some that fit?
Jools, can you elaborate on what was needed to fit them?
MikesXSs is out of stock atm... $54 + post is the current price.

A drill, and a de burring tool. If you have 2 holes at the bottom of the damper rod drill 2 more the same size at 90 deg to the originals. Debur them well re assemble fork.
Your a fully trained technician now

I'm tempted to say "remove the hand grips and attach to another bike" but I won't
