Morning all.....

Just thought I would pop in and say hello... :)

Based in the UK but have been along time member of Alex's forum (RIP) and a few others based in the UK and the US.

Have a passion for the LC and the YPVS having the following: LC2 in the best colours (black red) N1 again in the fastest colour (Red/white) and a 1980 4L0 in the best and the fastest colour (Red/white)!!!

Was put onto this forum by BRG1200. Been having a chat on line for a few months now.... ;)

I expect some of you know, but just in case you don't I have the Replica 31K side panels and the LC2 bikini fairing made in POLYURETHANE PLASTIC. Far superior material than the original Yamaha ones.

Trying my best to keep these alive!!!

I will update with some pictures of the replica fairing and the replica screen....

All the Best and looking forward to logging in!!!

Cheers
Nick

Welcome Mr Cheeks!

Guys, I have a few bits of the bodywork noted above, it is top quality, and there's more to come.

Now, if we can only get JonW's tanks going.....

Eyup Nick, are those the panels off the RDLC facebook page? They look like some good quality pieces of kit... good on you!

Hello all....!!!!

Yes that's the replica fairings on the facebook page - and now on here!!

Excellent copy of the original - far superior material than the original Yamaha.

Here are some pictures....

Price is £150 for the fairing.

I will hopefully know the price of the brackets and the replica screen in 2 - 3 weeks. I'm hoping to offer the whole package.

Brackets are being developed as we speak. Hopefully will be ready in 3-4 weeks. You can either have them "bare" or you can have them green passive plated (extra cost on top for that)

Fingers crossed it all should come together in about a months time!!!

Been Great to meet you all...... ;)

Cheers
Nick

If anyone can get me a decent original item with no damage - then there might be a good chance.... ;)

I have nothing to gain from saying this, but hopefully my posts have indicated I'm someone interested in preserving these bikes generally.

The sidepanels and a couple of N1 detail pieces that I have from Nick are perfect copies which fit immediately, the finish is excellent. I wouldn't doubt that these brand new pieces are any less in quality, I'll go for a fairing as soon as I can afford one. NOS is NLA and Nicks prices seem very good for what you get especially after factoring in the repairs usually necessary to old panels from a wreckers.
He's in the UK so conversion rates and shipping need to be considered, but I'm going to float the fairly complicated idea that we think about maybe doing a group purchase?
I know he's working on the tail and bellypan, or at least getting ready to do them.

Hi Nick

that some good kit - I especially like the screen :like:

Our problem here is the shipping cost of stuff like this.

i'm still inshock from being quoted 330 quid delivery for aTZ250U and A TZ250S fairings from BBS

On the tank issue, (sorry JonW ...)I know Mark has been dealing with these guys for his TZR tank.

My new (near) RZ tank arrived form the UK this week. the old one is still in good shape and i was going to have a go at repairing it as there is nothin to lose.
I'm not volunteering to follow this through as I have too much other stuff but I'm willing to supply this tank to be used as a pattern.

Postage is indeed the killer for us Aussies, especially when items come from those businesses that are not VAT registered, and I assume Nick is not due to the UK small business VAT rules etc. So we don't save the VAT when we purchase from outside the EU like we would with a larger company, since that can help to offset the postal costs and make the final bill less shocking.

For those who don't know, postage these days for large items is charged volumetrically, WxHxD thru an algorithm, then compared to the actual weight and the larger cost applied. This is especially relevant for airmail where space is at a premium. The days of sending light-but-large fairings cheaply is gone sadly for us, but the postals arent now losing money on those items LOL Depends on how you look at it ;) :D

Do bear in mind that for those not in a hurry, the UK still offers Surface mail, many dont (USPS comes to mind). It takes about 3months and for something like a used fuel tank should really be mandatory. Sometimes it can be quicker, but bank on 12weeks or so.

Buying in bulk is a good idea, especially if items can be packed cleverly to save room in the box, i.e. where 5 takes up only 10% more room than 1 item. Then the shared postage costs work well.

All this is just my 2c and offered for your understanding... IMHO, and having worked for postals worldwide, the pick of the bunch right now for those of us buying parts for our bikes... is.... {drumroll}... Germany. Yep, that's right, their postal system is distributed and as such they have not yet embraced the changes that the others have, and lets face it, being slower than USPS and RoyalMail is a worry if you're in the industry LOL. Buying from here means we get the local 20% tax off, then their post is cheap as chips. Right now you can have parts landed here for less than a German buys them in the same shop you ordered from if you search around. This will change, so make use of that knowledge while you can LOL
