Well,
I guess it had to happen some day
Taking a slow corner and hit a patch of loose gravel, bike just came out from under me, and before i knew it my head hit the kerb. as a testament to rjays helmets and my other gear i am fine.
My first thought, even as i was lying on the ground was my bike...
Damage is:
- bent fork tube
- damaged wheel fairing
- smashed gauges
- broken foot peg
luckily that is the extent of the damage, im in such a rotten mood at the moment, my bloody bike!!
so, anyone know if bent tubes can be straigtened? and do any of you have spare parts lying around? ill pay whatever it takes...

Bugger - that hurts, sorry to hear it.
Assuming your talking about your RZ250 ?
I notice there were a few older ones on Ebay last couple of days - might be easier to pick up a complete cheap one ???

Sorry to hear about that mate!
The good side is that its happened now so you know what it feels like. No need to be scared of it
I wouldn't bother straightening the tubes... you should be able to find one pretty easily.
I put mine down once on a long sweeping corner when I thought I saw gravel on the road and stood it up. Lucky for me the grass on the side of the road was very sandy and I came away a bit sore and thats about it.
Same as you I was more concerned for the bike.
I just lay there for a bit and made sure everything was still attached to my body where it should be
You'll be able to get hold of all the parts you need, even if it has to come from the UK. Postage shouldn't be much as all the parts are small/light enough.

All parts are off the bike now.
Only thing im a bit stuck on is the foot pegs, how do i remove the peg from the spring bracket, looks like some kind of headless bolt :S

They may have been rivetted in place.
You might have to replace the whole lot if you want to stay original. If you don't care about original, you should be able to replace them with aftermarket ones fairly cheaply from evilbay.

thanks edahenry

but its a bit different to mine :S
So best way to go about it would be to cut the rivet out, buy tasteful aftermarket footpeg, then bolt in?

Yeah, that's what I would be doing if you are not too bothered about keeping it standard.
You should be able to drill out the rivet.

Ok so time for a status update...
The forks, triple clamps, and front wheel are getting straightened by a frame specialist at smithfield, he really knows his stuff so if you need his services, pm me for his number.
I have ordered, new dual 'dominator' headlights, and footpegs. which should arrive soon-ish.
All that needs to be sourced now is gauges.... Where on this earth?! Do you guys have any opinions of koso or acewell or any others? although i would just prefer standard gauges...
As for the front fairing, im going to try to bent that back into shape with a heat gun...
I may aswell do a write-up on re-assembly, just to add some content to this site

I used the magnetic pickup on my wheel, but that S4 connector should work in the original speed pickup on your bike.

got the headlights of ebay for $90
And if you ever think of getting an acewell unit, get it from ELECTROSPORT, i got mine + shipping for $180, over $100 less than if i had gotten it from an aussie distributor.

So when you say dominator - are they a brand or off a honda dominator ?
