Hmmm. Nice rz, fork brace, all speeds, dampner, stan stevens engine, allot of the good stuff. Quite like the white lettering on the tyres. What do we think would be the sell price? I'm thinking wants 8 but more realistic value is around mid 6 to sell.

hideous seat but thats easy changed, rest is quite period UK style, done to higher standard than back in the day though. He's obviously (well, presumably) an expat pom who's brought it with him. I'd hang onto it if I could if I'd gone to all that trouble.

the same guy just put an immaculate UK RD500 up. Poor bugger is selling the family silver I reckon. Black RD500 with a stage 3 tune by Saint Stan of Stephens? Wish I had some loose change.

Arrrgh, just another tosser who thinks his bike is something really special. The World is full of 'em!
Message to seller:
Mate, that's nice enough, but it's just a restored non-original RZ, - don't disappear up your own fundamental thinking it's some special, rare piece eh? You've just spent too much on the over-restoration and expect other people to be as impressed by it as you are!

LOL guys! I know this seller. He imported these bikes from the UK and has a nice collection but I suspect something means he has to sell them as I dont think he would do it willingly. No they arent cheap, but they are nice. Overpriced, perhaps, but time and buyers will tell him that. And, no... He's not a tosser actually.

'kinell!
well he's put a price on the 350 now. Jon, he may be a nice fella, but at that price I'd be expecting a three-way with his teenage daughters to be thrown in.

Sorry Jon, I didn't mean to be insulting, just that I think some people are pushing prices up so far that it becomes a rich man's game. It's becoming more about the investment than about riding and fixing motorbikes.

Ive always thought people price things how they like, but some will just never be able to sell at what they ask, but I take your point that others who dont know the market might think that is what our bikes cost, when they dont But its not like these are as rare as hens teeth, the rest of the market is lower priced, tho much of it is lower quality it has to be said. Either way, I see this sort of thing like the sellers on ebay who list the same stuff year after year and people quote the prices, yet the seller still has the item, so we know its too expensive.
Anyway, Brian is a good guy and perhaps he did what we all do and after being talked at found himself suggesting to the Mrs that he would sell a bike or two to help make ends meet, not really wanting to see them go he whacked up the prices so they would stay in his garage. I know I would do that if i had to... So, my LC is for sale, its $35k, my XT500 is $40k... etc... 'Sorry darling, but it seems no one is buying, damn I will have to go on the game instead....!'

I reckon Jon is on the money... poor bugger.
Also, he might get that kind of money in the UK or USA, but things aren't that crazy here just yet.
