Can anyone tell me the correct Internal Diameter of the RZ oil pump shim washer?
(I want to make a couple of different thicknesses to get my pumping right -the shim that was in it doesn't look like a Yamaha part).

Great, thanks.
Also, -stopping the engine at the oil-pump plunger full out position for clearance checking, - any sneaky tricks to this or do we just rely on trial and error? I'm pretty sure mine is in the ballpark, but I'm never confident it's precisely right.

Sometimes if the shim gap has not been looked at in a long time there is no gap! So if you hold the pulley right down towards the body of the pump you will see the movement much easier. Then with the plunger fully out release the pulley and check the gap. You can use the kickstart to turn the motor over, but it takes longer to do.

Sounds right, and I guess I could pull the plugs out -that should make it easier.
Cheers.

Ooorrright... no more mister nice-guy!
I'll pull the plugs, stick it in gear, set up a dial gauge on the plunger, turn it over using the back wheel.
That'll do it surely?
Am I being paranoid !!! (don't answer that!)
Rode the bike today, only about 60k's, all seemed good, 2T oil use? about 3-4mm down measured on side of the the oil tank.
Seems a bit much to me, but at least I know It's getting oiled!

You can use a dial gauge on the plunger, but use the kickstart (much easier) and as you say easier with the plugs out.
