Going by their historic rego info... it might be another club that frowns apon mods. Anyone know their stance?

Depends on the state admin as the VJMC runs state based groups. I was a member but there was one guy there who was an absolute tosser, thought he owned the place so I decided my time was better served elsewhere. In Qld the Historic MC Club is much better and far more active if a little slanted towards old pommy crap.

This seems to be the issue with many clubs, both car and bike.
I might give it a miss and just stick with like minded individuals on forums.

I'm in the SA branch - it is a nice open culture.
Most run standardish bikes but a handful run cafe's and other variations, it's all of interest to most.

Sorry, intermittent service this morning.
I've only been to the annual rally in 2013, lots of variety, from a 125 stinger through to 1300 Kwaka.
The SA group is very socially active, meets once a month for an informal dinner at a pub, and has frequent rides - no pressure, well organised.

Give it a go people, you'll make contacts and friends, maybe pick up a bike or two from within the "community", like we sometimes do on here :-)

One tosser being allowed to pollute the whole thing.
Couple of points here.
Hear this so often, at school, in clubs, with bad neighbours, at workplaces.

Outnumber them. Stand up to them. Tell it like it is. Can get surprising results.
You'll soon work out if it's worth the effort, you might be the catalyst for positive change. If whatever group it might be turn out to be a pack of tosspots at least you'll know.

Can't speak for VJMC nationally but in SA its a good club with some great characters :-)

I am a member and have been for about 7 years. Sadly there are many many tossers there and even more sadly if you are a tosser you get to the top and make decisions. Most members are just there for the cheap rego despite what they will have you think and for that reason its a good club. As for mods, this has been a topic of much debate over the last few months as your bike is supposed to be a restored historic original bike, no café racers, streetfighters etc but you can have period correct frames etc.

Cheap rego is the only reason I would put up with people like that too, but I can't imagine they would want either of my bikes on historic.
Bikes are not that expensive to rego anyway. I can put up with $300 a year.

Sounds like we're lucky in SA in that respect then!
Shame its not similar elsewhere :-/
