Haynes manual says measured of the gasket face so does this mean leaving the gaskeet in place and taking your measurement of this 21mm or remove it and measure of the face that the gasket rests on in the carb body.
Ive always measure of the gasket since 1994

To me, the gasket face has always meant the machined face of the carb body where the gasket sits.
