Decisions, decisions

Post by DOC03 »

So, for some reason Ive always loved Dukes and for the last week have been in the possession of a very nice modern example, which I have been dutifully riding to work and taking the odd "long way round" (read every day) but........ and heres the question, would you trade your 30 year old 2 stroke for a few years old 1000cc Vtwin Duke ???

Ive been offered an opportunity to acquire said bike and while its got gobs of torque and pulls like a ................ I cant help but feel severly conflicted when I think about possibly giving up the "ol girl" to help fund it (Id still have my 2 builds).

Today I went for a short blast on the LC and while it didnt pull like the duke, sound like the duke or go as fast as the duke, like usual when I got home I had a smile on my face from ear to ear. You just cant help throwing it around and being comfy on it.

So am I missing something ? What would you do ??

Let's face it ANYONE can own and ride a modern bike, soon turning up somewhere on a early 2T will be as big a novelty as turning up to work on horseback.
