eBay scam artist, who wants to help waste his time?

Post by w3a51l »

I put in a low bid on a 500 on feeBay, then about 2 weeks later I got a "Second Chance offer" from "eBay". If anyone here has seen the ebolamonkeyman.com site, where he strings along the scammers and gets them to spend time and money chasing a rip-off that then falls through then you will know what I would like to try with this scumbag.

The exchange so far is reproduced below and I look forward to the creative suggestions of our community as to how we can sting this arsehole.

Hello,
Apologies for not replying earlier. The price I'm asking is $5,500.
I want to tell you that I can ship the bike to your address without any problems . The bike is in good condition, you can do a full inspection when will receive it and see it has absolutely no problem at all. I have all the papers ready for sale . This deal is going to be closed through an shipping company. In this way I will know for sure that I will not lose my time for nothing, I’ll know that you are a trusted buyer. You must complete the payment directly to the shipping company ( they will hold the money until you received and tested the bike ) you will not send the money to me . I will send the bike to your address through the shipping company , and the shipping company will bring the bike at your address.
I will also give you 7 days to inspect the bike and the documents ( in this time you can cancel the transaction if you will not like the bike ). The shipping company will check the bike, also the shipping company will check documents of the bike before they will start the transaction to see that everything is OK with them. So if you have the money and if you’re ready for this purchase, I need to know your full name, your postal address and your telephone number - as soon as I have received them I will get a shipping quote for you.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Ben,

Sorry your other buyer fell through. When can I come and have a look at the bike? I am really excited that you gave me this second chance offer.

There is no way, dont give them any info, no emails, nothing.... They have everything to gain, even if its just a confirmation that you are interested.
Its just not worth it...Ditch it fast

get gmail acct and string him along
The only way to beat scammers is to waste their time.
Say your in Adelaide at right now, you have the cash and want to pick it up. Watch the excuses. Then start to pick holes in the story.
This scam isn't even a good one.
"payment will be made to the shipping company" WTF when have you ever paid a courier for a parcel.
Then after stringing them a long just say to relist it on ebay with a BUY IT NOW price and you will pay with Pay Pal

get him to tell you the bikes history... in meticulous detail... word by word...
the following 4T propaganda was brought to you by your local 2T lobby group...

"whats that youve got there?... a 450? "
yeah...
"what cereal packet did that come out of? "
huh?...
"I just wanted to know, because theres nothing worse than finding a piece of shit in the bottom of your corn flakes. "

OK, today I sent him this...

Hi Ben,

I never trust shipping companies to move the bikes I buy on eBay as I have found that they do not treat them well sometimes. I always use my own tractor to pick them up now. Lucky I am leaving to go to Adelaide this week so I can meet you, I will inspect the bike and give you cash on the spot. Do you have the S.A. and N.S.W. registration papers? Which plate is on the bike at the moment?

Thanks, looking forward to meeting you.
