Anyone up for a ride up and down the Bell's line of Road on Sunday morning?

Proposed meeting place / start time: Richmond MacDonalds carpark 8.30am (Sunday, 10th of January).

Cheers, Markus.

I put a new fuel pump in mine today, along with some heat shielding over the top pipes. I have a feeling the fuel issue might have been a vapour lock with the fuel getting too hot.
Also reinforced the tray that supports the front fairing because it was cracking.

Hopefully I have sorted the fueling issue now, but I would like to ride the bike around a bit locally before I go on a long ride. Although it only seems to happen when the bike sits in traffic for a while, so maybe it would be ok.

Certainly sounds like you're on the right track with it being a heat related issue if it mainly happens in heavy traffic.

Probably best to test it out in both slow and regular conditions to see if its fixed properly.

Cheers, Markus.

Yeah.. hopefully the heat shielding sorts it, or I'm kinda screwed with very few options to further keep the heat away.

Its going to be a scorcher again tomorrow.. are you still going on the ride?

I was hoping to... haven't been on a road ride since the Stinky Daze ride. Haven't had any takers so far, so I might can it.

Its a shame there are not many close-by options out West. When I used to live down South I was only 12 minutes from the National Park, which is always nice.

Decisions... decisions ;-)

I'll get mine out on the next cooler weekend and test it out. Although it probably needs a hotter day to test the vapour lock.

Markus,

Did you end up going? It was stinking hot today.

By the way, did you get the fuel venting issue sorted out on the VJ22SP you took out on the last ride?

Cheers

Hey Mark,

No, didn't end up going. No takers and yeah... it was like 26 degrees at my place at 7.30am...

Haven't looked at the venting issue yet. Thanks for reminding me!

Cheers, Markus.
