2 Strokes Down Under

So with the excitement about Aarons 'budget build', Jason (LB) and I got to wondering if we could build our own bikes from the parts we had left over from our other builds.... Our problem always seems to be that as Aaron highlighted, we don't each have all the parts we need, yet some of us have more than one of something and its just sitting around taking up room.

So I agreed to create what Jason and I coined, The Sydney partS Swap Shop thread where we can swap parts about.

This thread is open to anyone who wants to swap parts around, but its mostly useful for guys in the Sydney area I expect as we can meet up and swap parts F2F.

So how does it work?

1, Add a post to this thread asking for something and say what sort of parts you want to swap for it, eg:

"Wanted - RZ sprocket carrier and front axle, SWAP WITH - RZ engine parts eg. shift forks and gears, headlight (31k), rear ducktail, but also have other parts."

2, sit back and wait.

Or

3, ask the people who say they are part of this parts network if they can help by posting what you have spare, you dont need to take anything in return.

Guys let me know if you think this is a good idea...

Feel free to post that you are on board with this idea and have parts you might be able to help people with...

So first up: I am happy to be part of this network... I have a bunch of parts and will monitor what people are looking for and will help if i can.

RZ 250 and 350 cages are different Alex... which ones do you actually want? if its 350, just speak to Steve at TSS, he had lots of the ones he had remade and they were cheap as chips...

I got some reeds complete for my 350 from TSS and they work perfectly. If you need 250 ones I have some here.

I need a 31K speedo and have plenty RZ/LC/RG spares to swop if anyone has one. It must work not like the four I have already.

Yep 250s are smaller, but i dont have any measurements to hand... sorry.

man all i do is build bikes from bits left over from other projects which were built with bits left over..lol.. can remember when the last time i bought a compete runner..oh wait yes i can..tzr3ma cira 96 and look how well that turned out..he he.. but what is this budget build you are talkin about i seemed to have missed that thread...?

i have rgv reed cages galore

The reed cages from a 350 measure 46.3 mm x 25.2 mm (opening).
