gday, well its nearly done,taken it for a ride, feels very smooth but havent ventured into the band yet as im still running it in, need to sort a small exhaust leak to right pipe,rattles a bit near the front of engine but only in a very limited low rev range,not sure what i can do about this as its on 2mm oversize, am looking for some meatier barrells for the future, anyway will continue to fine tune it and enjoy it, thanks

Yeah def lookin a million bucks Ken,definately a bike to be proud of.So you've had a hard time finding servicable 350 barrels too huh?

thanks fellas,yeah im going to ride it more than i thought i would, i need to go over things make sure all bolts are done up, as its my 1st attempt at a full nut and bolt i need to gain some confidence in what ive done, from a safety point of view, but having said all that it will only be a good weather bike,im very happy with how it looks and hopefully will get a fair bit of use out of it before it needs new barrells,they are hard to find arent they,some went yesterday on UK ebay for over 400 bucks and youd be looking aT another 100 to get them here id reckon,

thanks again, a few people have asked are you going to sell it?not a chance, i wouldnt get back what i put into it for starters but its about a lot more than just money,im 47 now and fingers crossed i intend to enjoy it for the next 20 years even if that means just looking at it when i start getting a bit older, i know i will need a good set of barrells for it down the track but they easy enough to get from overseas if you can afford them , its virtually a NOS bike so it should go the distance again, it was a lot of fun, ups and downs as expected, not sure if id do another one but having said that i wouldnt rule it out, now i just need to think of a name for her, ? at the moment its "the white bike" but i need something better than that, it was easier naming the kids, thanks, ken

You can still go to 2.5mm.
Also, NZ cylinders will double thickness Nickosil plate worn steel liner barrels to bring then down in size and with a harder bore.
They charge $NZ400 per cylinder.

bloody hell, 400 a side, good to know but would be a last resort i think, a few pros and cons going to 2.5 mm o/s but is an option,

thanks jon, went to a swap meet on the week end and looked at a few resto's and i guess you like to compare yours to theirs and i can honestly say mine at least looks better than what i seen at the meet, funny thing is the more carefull i was with screw drivers, spanners etc the more i would bump into things, there is a few marks on it but you need to look hard. at times i felt like i was playing the drums i was wacking it that much with tools.lol
