i have always wanted a dt200.. i had a couple of 175s and a basket case 200r but i picked this up for a song of $100 with a dodgy cdi..very common with this model it was fully complete and all original just pretty tired with 65tho on the clock

i stripped it totally down to bare metal on every thing then resprayed frame and then resprayed frame, radiator, engine in gloss 2 pac black all other bits foot pegs, swing arm, bolts and stuff i used a great galzinc product they came up great and seems to be quite hard wearing.
engine was inspected all seemed good i ditched air box and stock muffler and jetted to suit
decoaked pipe
fixed power valve motor
fitted later model dt200 forks..much better..
new led indicators and tail light
new master cylinder
new yz125 front guard
aftermarket head light
new brake pads.
mirrors and grips
new alloy bars
new gell batt
new chain and sprokets
all finnished off with SS fasteners
im really happy

i think including the purchase price total cost of build including full rego was well under $1000 and took me a week to complete..
and what a blast to ride..ok so its never going to be a 350 twin powerplant but its great to blast around the streets and in the trails its got great low end power and soo smooth..
it pulls the front up first and second and happy to sit at 110 km
