If you read into a bit more rather than posting up the first link you find, you will see that there is alot more to the story.
a post from Ghezzi, who started that forum thread states:
"I wasn't setting out to totally destroy anybody, if Steve has individual parts on the shelf to sell globally, then well and good. I was only intent on preventing people ever putting down large deposits for complete bikes or motors that would in all likelyhood, never be delivered."

I'm on a two stroke forum that Wobbly was (is?) a part of, and this thing (the TSS 500) was not a scam from the start. It all started with the best intentions.
I think though, it was an issue of possibilities and probabilities getting mixed up, and it all became too hard.

Hey Hybrid. Has Wobbly had a say about the entire shemozzle or has he maintained radio silence? I have read the diatribe from Steve about TPIE and am convinced that there is a second side to the story, but have not heard any of it.
I have dealt with Steve a couple of times and it has been as expected without knowing the full back story (i.e. pay the money and stuff turns up in the post a few days later). He seems very helpful and knowledgable to me.
I understand that a lot of people have been burned though and it would be interesting to hear to other side, unless it is being played out in a courtroom somewhere.

It's been a while since I was on that forum, but I doubt if Wobbly said anything there. It's a closed forum for people interested in 2Stroke development. It's all very technical discussion, so handbags out would not have been accepted. But the TSS was talked about there a lot when it all first started.
I don't think Steve set out to steal peoples money. I think things just spiralled out of control very quickly on both sides.

Dave, thats a bit harsh imho, but its your call I guess. FWIW, Steve has supplied a number of us with parts without any hassle. I'm not talking whole engines or bikes, but cranks, bearings, impellers, seals, manifolds, PVs and a bunch of other stuff. Ive always found him helpful and fairly priced.
The TSS500 is a different thing, I wont go there. But for parts Steve has on the shelf you will have no hassle at all in my experience.

JonW that wasnt meant to be harsh, im just sick of keyboard warriors sprouting off like Jeram did. Im not a noob and ive read a lot about TSS and Steve's treatment of some of his customers and if he had read the post I linked to he would have seen posts like this from STEAMFROG.
"Here is my horror story, bought a pristine rs250, I mean immaculate condition not a scratch or speck of dirt on it it used to sit in a guys lounge room. I paid steve $5000 to do some work in it before everything went belly up, and then stood by him when it did thinking I'd be ok he sounded like he knew what he was talking about, after 18months I just got my bike back, no work done parts missing and out $5000. I got it off the truck this morning and its missing the CDI and electronics, the seat boot, no keys, no airbox loose wires all over the place. I was emailed nearly weekly with pics of the new parts and tales of what was being done it it, all lies. NO work was done it looks like it sat in the sun for 1 year as all the stickers on the rhs are melted off it is covered in oil as if someone stated dirbikes right next to it. IT's in a fair condition to put it in the best light, I actually didn't think it was my bike. I am very disappointed. I am considering suing him."

Wow,from crank bearings to this......
Ok plz, moving along now,I didn't start this thread as a shit mining exercise.
This motor will be 350 stocker. All new everything, seals pv's etc....
I have a quote from Steve & he offered 2 types of main bearing. The oem pin located type & the grooved o ring type, anyone offer up info on which one?
Being a stock motor,is the Peek coated big ends any advantage?Seeing as tho I already have the oem rods & big ends....
Really I was just seeing if there was any other bearing options out there.

Ahh, but what a wealth of shit you have uncovered.
Another thought I have had is Wicked ATV in the US. Roger is very into RZs/banshees etc, but make sure that you are very specific as to what you want to receive. In my experience (I bought a pair of 421 Wicked spec Athena/RZ pipes, a crank, pistons and several other bits and it took forever with much emailing back and forth to end up with nearly what I asked for, and I haven't opened up the crank box, so it might be incorrect as well.
Consequently I have a pair of pistons here for a different motor and I cant be fagged sending them back. Roger did offer to replace them or return and refund or me sell on fleabay and he refund the difference, but by the time it all turned up, I was nearly ready to shitcan the project, and never went any further until now.
So, in short, Roger seems like a good guy, very knowledgeable, but a bit distracted. Try him, you might have a better experience than I did.
Cheers

Not sure where you got the idea that I was mouthing off. I was simply stating that your were basing your opinion on hearsay from forums.
Some of it or most of it may be true, but reading into the failure of the TSS500 project and applying that same logic to his sales of small off the shelf parts isn't correct.
A fair few of us on this forum including myself have purchased directly from Steve in the past without any issues.
For me its everything from a $40 reed cage boot from a rotax, to my entire 421 Cub motor which was purchased through the bikes previous owner without any issues.
All I'm saying is that if the original poster posted up regarding wanting to by a TSS500, I would have agreed with you completely, but for small parts I unfortunately cannot agree with you there.
I did read the entire link you posted.
From that same thread, the original poster (Ghezzi) agrees with my stance regarding small parts.
But if you don't agree with what I've said then we will just have to agree to disagree, because were certainly not going to turn this forum into a place for arguments as the fact that everyone here gets along so well makes this forum so good!

I think thats pretty common among tuners like that.
a million projects and ideas on the go
a million engines on the floor
a million emails from tire kickers and serious buyers to sift through each day

Hey Freddy,or is it the depth that Ive unearthed...........
Yes,Roger...........Aaron & I are going through that lil excercise in patience right now lol.Out of curiosity, the pistons, what are they for & are you interested in a brand new Vito head to suit Athena?
I was thinking of emailing Roger,as he does have the good gear. But wanted to see if anything else out there first.Crank is being sent to Graham CSR,but he doesnt have all the main bearings either.
