Ant needs help please

Hi all happy new year
Been away for a while now back to get into darn electrics.
Yep its got the better of me here's the problem
Replaced the blinkers with some fancy aftermarket cats eyes now the prob starts
Standard lc bulbs are 12v 21w and flasher unit is 12.8w 27wx2.
Bulbs in new blinkers are 23w problem is right side flashes ,left side comes on but dosent flash.
Bulbs are all new i even replaced the wiring loom still same problems exists.
Basically im shit at electrics thats why im a carpenter can someone talk me through this or have some spare some time one weekend.

Hi Ant,
I have seen the same thing ages ago on my bike. Mine would start flashing with engine running and some revs. I think it was a combination of a battery that wasn't the best and lights that didn't draw enough current to engage the flasher.
A change to an electronic flasher should fix it.

I had the oposite problem on my R1. Installed LED blinkers and they were flashing too fast. A blinker relay designed for LED blinkers fixed that one...

Cheers fellas i went out and bought a 3 pin plug like oem
12.8v 85c/m
2(4)x21w+0-4w will this work ? i tried it and it got no power so I presume I need to change the wiring at the plug end. Positive and negative are displayed on the flasher but not on the oem flasher box.
23w Isnt to far off the oem bulb rating so I thought they would have worked , problem is if I blow a bulb you can't get that rating here only 10w globes.
Just dont get why one side works and the other dosent even with new loom.
Where would you get a electronic box from if this one dosen't work tried j car.

Sometimes you need to change the wiring a bit to get them to work.
The electronic flasher on my 500 (LED blinkers) came from Ebay!

Ok think ive fixed it
My battery is a bit down however I could here the left side clicking at the box right is the same.
By rights tommorow when I fire it up they should flash.
I ended up going to Mca and picked up some better quality lights , funny because they are still 23w bulbs .
If you need 23w bulbs MCA sell them , maybe there was a bad earth on the others.
