2t Expansion Chamber technology

Hi All (he said looking squarely at 2tinstitute). Just been having fun in the yard with a DT175 pipe, some metho, a camping gas cylinder and stove, a portable propane torch, an air compressor and some barbecue coal.
The PO of this bike seemed to be using heavy crude in a premix and consequently the pipe was clagged quite badly. They also had a go at fixing a leak with an arc welder and successfully created 100 more leaks. Which they tried to fix with silicone. Unsuccessfully.
So after stuffing around with the gas burner and metho and the air compressor and barbecue coal, I have successfully removed the paint from the outside of the pipe, the crap from the inside to reveal what Twinrock was talking about with his DT200 hybrid pipe, the perforated mesh.
Should I have a go at removing this and any of the other restrictors in the pipe? Would this be beneficial to power without being too detrimental to the noise output? I need to weld this thing back together anyway, so a little more welding isnt a big inconvenience.
Just wondering.
Cheers
Fred.
