2 Strokes Down Under

Hi Guys

Steve at Two Stroke Shop is stuffing me around.
I purchased a clutch cable bracket (the one that mounts the cable to the crank cases) a month ago.

I was told that he had serveral in stock
I payed for it
He then said he had sent it
Two weeks later after I harassed him he said he infact never had one.
He ordered one from Yamaha 2 weeks ago
Still no sign of receiving it.

I usually stick up for Steve when people pick on him (regarding small parts, not the TSS500 issue). But the last few times it has taken some heckling to get the parts I need.

I could have ordered it from Yamaha AUS or USA and received it by now.




Anyhow does anyone have one kicking around?

Even if its on a bike collecting dust, I will pay for it + extra if you want to order a brand new shinny one for your bike and are happy to wait for it to turn up


This is the last part I need to get the TZR421 going which is frustrating.


Other parts Id like to get my hands on, but not in such a rush is an OEM clutch lever and perch and an OEM clutch cable
(although its an RZ part, it is the same as many other models)

Got a few clutch cables but they are pretty nasty, I would get a new one if i was you, they say the 'shee is the same and will work fine if you have low bars.

The clutch bracket is the 'n' shaped one with the wire sticking out of the edge is it? I may have one, but it wont be pretty and probably bent - they usually are it seems. Annoying as its not an expensive part Jeram it must suck to be waiting for this little thing

I called citywest Yamaha and for just over 50 bucks he can get me the bracket plus lever perch and lever.
But I would have to wait 2 weeks for it to come from Yamaha Japan.


There are officially no more rz clutch cables anywhere Acording to Yamaha, but I have an aftermarket one.

Lozza ill track down the numbers tomorrow I suspect I can get the bits cheaper in the USA, but I don't want to wait for bits to come from Japan to USA then wait for postage from USA to AUS

I prolly have one on that spare engine or two givvus a bell this arvie.

Who woulda thought, the part I need could be just 500 meters from my house!

by the way, I've still got a few of your tools and still have to give you that fancy clutch bearing I got for you so Ill have to remember to bring them over tonight

Got spare new cables & a bracket if ya need it. Ill even express post it,been waiting to hear/see this thing running lol.
Parts like cables etc you cant go past bob_yp on eblag. Top guy,if he hasnt got it he can get it at pretty good prices.

I've got an aftermarket cable sorted which will hopefully work fine, The only bits Im hunting for now is the clutch lever perch, Clutch lever, and the clutch lever adjuster bolt/nut

I can get these from yamaha but will be 2 weeks for them to come from Japan.

So if nobody has a lever, perch and adjuster this weekend, Ill order it first thing monday. It will take me 2 weeks to finish off the rest of the bike so will probably be perfect timing

Things to do:

-pop the carbies back on
-pop the airbox back on
-install the EGT probes and guage
-put some foam under the fiberglass seat so it doesnt crack when It pushes against the subframe
-paint (I want to try White plastidip with a new glossifier and pearl top coats they have now)
-tidy up the wiring loom a little
-get a lithium ion battery and mount it on the bike

So just lots of little jobs to go, nothing serious.

Then Ill be taking her to the drags to get the jetting set up!

so yes, if anyone has a lever perch or adjuster let me know ASAP

funny thing was, I prolly have a clutch perch and lever on my other spare RZ at my mate's place in Lara.

Iteresting, if my set up gives me any dramas, ill buy them off you!
