Hi guys,
Newby on the forums.
I've been looking at these too. Great collection for somebody. I have the space and I'd love to have them but I'm not sure that I have enough cash!!
I would like to see them go to an enthusiast rather than a cashed up wrecker though.

I doubt if there are too many cashed up wreckers out there these days

.
Between competition from Ebay and non-repairable write offs I think Wreckers are a dying breed. Most certainly for older collectables.

Welcome to the forum, mate.

Does seem most older bikes are worth more in bits these days. Ive met quite a few guys who break bikes at home now and feed the collectors and enthusiasts market, ie us.
Wreckers will be gone soon, just a fact of a changing market. We can now buy cheaper than them off ebay, and the 'net means that we are no longer limited by bricks n mortar places within a 50km radius of home, that means wrecking bikes and storing parts for years to get a pay out isn't much of a big business these days, more a small thing done by blokes at home it seems.
Quality the parts may not always be, but they are cheap enough most of the time that we wouldn't send them back anyway. My view is that I would rather buy of like minded people and that has meant I have met a bunch of good blokes off this and other forums, and thats worth more than the price of the parts any day of the week, and way better than being ripped off by a grumpy wrecker who treats you like an idiot.
Maybe Ive just been unlucky, but Ive dealt with wreckers in 3 countries and they have all pretty much been hard work and I didnt enjoy the deals at all. I avoid them now, I dont need their hard luck stories or high prices.
It will be interesting to see what happens with these bikes, but I bet they dont sell to a wrecker, it will be a collector i think. he will cherry pick the best two and probably sell the rest on. Thats what i would do

I certainly agree with you about buying from like minded people. The help and knowledge you get from fellow enthusiasts is always valueable.

Me too

.
But I think he want $6000+ so it won't be me

. The cherry picking I would enjoy but not the selling, no matter how much profit. The profit I would enjoy I just couldn't stand been stuck with more unwanted junk

.

Just to defend one or two wreckers, there are a couple in Adelaide who are good.
Jap Dismantlers on Churchill Road have been helpful and fair to me. Damian is the main bloke.
Mr Dismantlers in Saint Agnes also well organised and seems pretty fair.
Agree that it looks increasingly bad as a business proposition to be a traditional wrecker. The two above are very well organised, seen others round here with most of their stock rotting into the ground outside.

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."
I wonder how much it went for? Was the buyer any one here? Will we see a flood of LC parts on EvilPay shortly

.

......and they're back on, but with good large photo's!
Got to say, if I had a few grand available, that lot is the ideal starting point for half of the projects I've wanted to do.
The expense that set of projects represents could be a killer though.
You'd be restoring into retirement!
This year I suddenly feel that LCs have shifted in my mind from quick older bikes to almost vintage stuff. Technology really has moved on.

It's back, but he's still using the same selling tactic - job lot

.
Why he doesn't at least sell the bikes individually I've got no idea. He's gone to the time and trouble to do a great job on the photos so time and effort can't be an issue.
Each to their own I suppose.........
