Hi fellas.
I am almost complete me ds7/r5 build. this is my first bike build ever.
I have no spark.
how can i test the generator (?) to see if its the issue.
how can i test the coils?
i have new plugs.
new regulator/rectifier combo (HVCCYCLE.com)
new battery
new harness.
I only want to wire the essentials to see if my motor will run before i spend to much time and money on this bike.

How's it going with your bike bosslock? have you got it running? have you got a yamaha (clymer) manual and multimeter?

can someone post a photo of their coil wiring?

hey gman. still trying to figure out which wires go to the ignition coils.
i do have a manuel but still not sure.
both coils receive a brown power wire.
then i have 1 orange 1 gret and 1 brownwhite stripe left over.
each coil has 1 brown and one orange coming from it....

gday bosslock. you should have 2 brown wires. these go to the positive side of coils. then grey wire is for right hand side coil negative, orange wire left hand side coil negative. (note the other end of grey and orange wires are conected to the generator )The coil is only going to produce a spark if the pionts are clean and set correctly,also condensers working). As i've offered mate, i live on the gold coast, i have time of at the moment and i'm able to come over and help if needed. Before starting the bike the carbs have to be synced, pionts and timming set then you should be ready to start bike. The regulator/rectifier are not necesary to get the bike to run if your battery has good charge.
