Post by bosslock »

Hi fellas.
I am almost complete me ds7/r5 build. this is my first bike build ever.

I have no spark.
how can i test the generator (?) to see if its the issue.
how can i test the coils?
i have new plugs.
new regulator/rectifier combo (HVCCYCLE.com)

new harness.

I only want to wire the essentials to see if my motor will run before i spend to much time and money on this bike.

both coils receive a brown power wire.

gday bosslock. you should have 2 brown wires. these go to the positive side of coils. then grey wire is for right hand side coil negative, orange wire left hand side coil negative. (note the other end of grey and orange wires are conected to the generator )The coil is only going to produce a spark if the pionts are clean and set correctly, also condensers working). As i've offered mate, i live on the gold coast, i have time of at the moment and i'm able to come over and help if needed. Before starting the bike the carbs have to be synced, pionts and timming set then you should be ready to start bike. The regulator/rectifier are not necesary to get the bike to run if your battery has good charge.
