RZ250 Tank - Had to tell someone

Post by pkay »

I am very happy to post that I have managed to buy a nice useable 1984 RZ250 tank out of the USA for $315 posted. After the last false start where some shonkster in Hungary tried to stiff me I'm very happy to get this. I actually have a tank for the RZ but it has lots of pinholes and would need some work (quote was about $1000 including painting) to get back on the bike. This one is in KR paint scheme so will still cost around $600 to get done (so really makes about the same right).

So the 84 that came to me as a frame missing a lot of stuff now has almost all the necessary bits to restore. Just need the belly pan which I have on my eBay watch list out of Japan (remanufactured so no hurry).

Then let the games begin (after I finish the CX500 unfortunately).

CX what!?
Blimey, good taste with the RZ, not sure about the Plastic Maggot!
good on you
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

Yes - I got sick of looking at the effin thing so am about a thrid of the way through......

I am sort of doing an 86 RZ250 at the same time although that is more of a recommissioning rather than a resto. Still had to replace the tank on that one too.....
