DT200

Post by EPApolice »

Got myself a DT200 yesterday in not too bad shape really. I will be looking for parts to keep it alive so if anyone has anything let me know.
The motor is on .5 oversize and from what I know that's the end of the genuine pistons and of course it needs a rebore. I see Wiseco and Woosner do pistons in bigger sizes anyone else out there and where would the cheapest place to get them from be.
The bike is a runner just has a blown head gasket.

there is a place in Greece or Portugal who does stuff for the Rs like this, I had pistons and gaskets from them a while back. good value bodywork too.

Info Download: Well there isnt much info out there, but there was a sub-forum off the IT forum and its worth stopping there. Parts are not always easy to find but people do break them occasionally. Its basically a UK 125 with a big bore motor, so lost of 125R parts fit and you can get stuff from the usual uk players. Carbs are not easily swapped as they are a funny shape and some WR pipes might fit if you wanted an upgrade like ProCircuit, but you will need to do some work. The other 200s have a diff motor (blaster) so that wont help. front brake is useless and worse when wet and there isnt an obvious bolt on upgrade. Blue bodywork / seat cover is (was?) very much NLA, white, red and black could be found tho, maybe aftermarket but blue... no chance. Yam Aus has a manual as a free DL, could be owners tho and some WR info works too.

HTH Pat, I had two of these one really nice and one a parts bike really, I traded them for MT250s a while back and might have a gasket set but nothing else here now. Fun bike, like the old 125 only more fun. Should have kept my good one really, ahh well...
