Carbon Fairings RZ

Post by Greasemeup »

Hi All,

There is a company in HK that makes Twill Carbon bits for bikes, I know their work is good as I have a full kit for my TDR.

I was asking for a kit for my RZ as well but they don't make that model already and so want a mould making fee, is there any interest for a kit from anybody else here to help offset the fee?

My RZ is a RZ250R / RZ350R 1AH

Considering how many of our fully faired bikes now are making use of repaired panels I think this would be a goer as the old plastic is brittle now too :/

Bear in mind a couple of things:

1, the rear cowl and side panels are are already available in CF, norbo sells them, but they surely are ex China as the link from Alibaba was ponted out on his forum and he deleted it very quickly. is is the same co? here is one link from alibaba, dunno if its the same people or not...
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/c ... 88881.html

2, The rear cowl and side panels also fit the 83 and 84 models - extra sales.

3, the top, belly, front guard and mid panels are the same on your 84/85 F1 model as the F2 models sold in the uk until 92. more sales...

4, the top is common also to the RZ500... even more sales...

I reckon they would have no trouble selling them if they are nice. I would have a set as well depending on price.

Strange that he would delete a link unless he was fleecing people.
Most people would be happy to pay extra to deal with a local person.

I will mention those carbon alibaba parts as well and send the link.

I looked for them on Norbo site as I had seen them before, only to not find them today.

The RD LC ones are still there as well as that pretty headlight bucket.

My TDR set cost around 1200 delivered, I would expect as these are bigger parts and more of them it would be a bit more money.

The first run of the TDR bits cost less because lots of people paid deposits before manufacture.

Don't forget Nick Sampford makes high quality panels, I have 4 different panels and he was trying to expand his range. If its worth his while he obviously 'has the technology'. Speaks English too.
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

I have feedback from supplier, 7 is the number, if we can get 7 definite buyers then we will get a price.

Do we have 6 more names?

Can those who are on other forums spread the word?

If it is easier for getting 7 together, and a start by the supplier then I suggest that we ask for the top, middle and belly pan fairing parts only.
