Track day - what do you take with you?

Those of you who do regular track days, what do you take with you?
I just got a set of leathers for my birthday, so I'm ready to take the 500 to a track day at some stage.
I better be fast, because the leathers are as loud as my bike

Some things are obvious I guess.

- Tools
- Fuel
- 2Stroke Oil
- Coolant?
- Riding gear (leathers, boots, gloves, helmet)
- Drinking water
- Paddock stand(s)
- Some spares? Plugs?
- Rags

What else am I missing?

You have it covered in your list there but just be aware a lot of the "officials" have no idea what a two stroke is so expect to get black flagged for blowing smoke. The food at the Creek if that is where you are going is not too bad these days but the price is questionable. If you have some different size sprockets you could have a play with the gearing.

I should add one other thing to my list - ABILITY.
However, I haven't been able to source any.

I would love to just ride the bike there, but surely something is going to happen right?
So I'm probably going to trailer it.

Don't matter how much you take because what you will need will be sitting at home, as you were convinced that you would never need it. I'm certain professional motorsport teams have B Doubles to cart an entire warehouse full of shit around with them just to ensure they won't ever need it.
If don't think you will need it pack it anyway.

Depending on your mobile phone, I take an app called Race Chrono. It records lap times discretely in your pocket.

I did read that there is strictly no timing devices allowed on track days, but that might just do the trick

And Lozza, I reckon you're right - which is the main reason I want to take it on the trailer too. If something breaks I just load it up and take it home. I can either borrow a bike trailer, or I also made an enclosed kart trailer our of an old boat trailer that I could modify to tie a bike into if I dumped the two karts out of it.

I just gotta convince someone to give me a hand to load and unload it.

Not sure when I will be going. There's a group of blokes from work who do track days now and then, so hopefully next time I'm there.

I know a bloke and his mate who transported his bike from Townsville to Sydney then flew down to meet it for a track day, must be missing something if there are nutters prepared to do that. You might not be able to afford the 2 stroke habit soon hybrid

Have already thought about that, don't worry. Anything that happens to the engine is going to cost me, but I still think it's better than the bike gathering dust, which it does more often than not now.

On the street I can't really stretch it's legs anyway. It's already doing silly speeds in first or second gear.
I can already see it now though - I can feel the power delivery from the top pipes vs bottom pipes. Because the top pipes are a bit short, it has a second powerband at around 8,500 or so. I bet it starts to bug me, and I'll be looking to get them re-made.

That is why I stopped taking my cars to the drags "just to see how they went". I would always come home with something I'd found to make it faster next time.

Hopefully I'm older and wiser now and will just be happy to be out there having fun.

I've done plenty of track days. Other things to consider. Air pressure gauge, air pump, Consider the age of your brake fluid as it tends to boil and fade if older when put under track conditions. Alternative main jets. camera, video camera, zip ties, On hot days i put some wet towels in the esky to help cool down neck and head between sessions.
I'm assuming you are trailering the bike to the track? Take a friend or familly member the Bike and or yourself could get wrecked and you may need someone to pack it all up and get you and the bike home. I'd also reccomend you give the bike a going over in regard to all bolts and screws torqued. Have fun, it's addictive.
