heat wrap for chambers,or how to not burn hoses, fairing etc
Hi all I was wondering what tricks you have or products you may have tried to stop melting hoses and coolant bottles etc on to your pipes. I have #### all room around my chambers on the rg and cant get the clearance I would like to see. The last guy used heat wrap with ally foil attached but I reckon that is hotter then the exposed can. I will check it with a thermal gun when I get a chance but touching it seems a lot hotter than the chamber unwrapped. I was thinking of using the spring method over the hoses if and where I can but a few places there is not much room without the rad hoses touching the chambers. Same question with fairing and paint touch points. Thanks Link

Ive seen guys using flex lines normally used on toilet cisterns and hot and cold feeds to hand basins.
Normally used in leau of copper when its a visual issue.
Outside of hoses has a flexable steel sheath.
Give Plumbers supply's a call and see if they have your size, just cut the flange nut off and use a utilux clip.

Braided hose.
Not sure the plumbing braided hose would be ok for fuel/oil.

Re: heat wrap for chambers,or how to not burn hoses, fairing
Hi guys i think thats a pretty good idea, but I need to keep a few things cool so I was hoping to trap it in the pipes better and knock off a bit of noise as it sounds like four cr125's,bit loud for everyday riding. The stuff on it is fairly cheap ceramic with a foil backing but I dont think does heaps to cool off the area. I have a large lower radiator hose touching the pipe! Not real groovy and I cant get room without bashing the chamber.
Keep em coming Thanks link

I'm using normal exhaust wrap on my 500 and it seems to work well. I've only wrapped the first foot or so of the pipe.
You have to be careful with 2strokes though, because wrapping the pipes makes them hotter inside. This in turn makes the exhaust pulses travel faster, so it can ruin your pipes timing.
It is also said to cause condensation inside the pipes, which can make them rust.
