RZ 500 usd r6 front conversion

i have just fitted the usd r6 front into my rz500, i have put this fornt end into a cbr900 a fzr 400 and now my rz 500 its a very simple coversion to fit the r6 triples into all these bike with only a change of top bearings and a spacer for the cbr at the top

Not including tthe bodies work as im still in progress, The r6 triple fitts straight into the rz 500 with no changes the simplest way is to buy a std tappered roller bearing 13x30x55 send the bearing to a engineer and get the inside dia to the same as the r6 about 31mm, the 55mm outter dia fit alot of bikes the r6 shaft length is right for the rz500. there is no need to press out and change shafts. the top bearing is a special series and bit expensive
32906 series 30x47x12

Or 2 press the shaft out and get it turned to 30mm to suit the lower bearing
You can use a can of lighter gas to freeze the shaft while pressing it(IN A VENTILATED AREA )
i have the same year r1 lower triple, the shaft is smaller in the pressed fit area and WILL NOT fit the r6 triple
I hope this helps some of you out
i have bought a small hone tool to see if i can grind a bearing myself just to see how it goes, it only needs .5mm

thanks i have been looking at your replica looks very nice has inspired me. i am doing much the same, i have all the megasquirt and t/bodies ect. im saving up for the costin frame at the moment

I'm taking the EFI off mine!
Goes like stink, but no good in traffic... I'm at the point where I just want to ride it instead of play with it. With other projects going on I just don't have time.

oh ok i have spoke to marin in germany and smurph who fitted to there 350 as i was going to but changed my mind to the 500
