First thing is to biff to see if it polishes up nicely....

The shaft and the hole are 15mm so a 15mm drill bit later.



I miscalculated (longer than I thought) but drill and thread the knuckle and a bolt should work .

The engagement is good. I might have to be a little careful with the kicking but should work. But it all worth it for ingenuity, bling and, of course, weight savings .

Drilled and tapped the 'knuckle', inserted a specialised washer with a 15mm collar that holds the screw and washer, 6mm tap, 6mm GTR1000 fairing screw and hey presto .

Not too bad, It works , we'll see how long it lasts .







I might get better photos if I drag the bike outa the shed or get a better camera .

This guy was only selling the one but others would probably go close. Specifically this was a 2009 Yamaha YZ125.

May be mistaken but this looks like the kickstart lever on my long-departed* RZ500
(*But not missed!)
