rz500 water pump

I am rebuilding an rz500 that has been in a shed for 17 years.It was partly dismantled.I need to know which way the water pump driven gear goes and how the housing fits against engine,is it flush or slightly off.Also the fiche shows 3 washers one is after the clip is that correct.
