Rz350 with a few mods
Well I felt I had been forced to buy an rz now before they become priced out of what I'm prepared to pay.. I looked for a while then eventually went down to old gold and bought a pretty rough 1983 250 with a 350 top end.. Not running.. Although it was showing its age.. The tight bushes perfect forks low wear on the discs and tight levers told me it was worth the risk of $2000
Here is a pic of it when I got it last week

Re: Rz350 with a few mods
Now it's been a week since I got the bike and a lot has been done firstly was to get the bike running.. It started but only just.. Sitting for along time had the carbs in bad condition.. It coughed and misfired but It was enough to tell the motor was OK..
Then I totally stripped the bike and set about refurbishing everything. frame down to metal painted as with every thing else..
I also has a set of wheels from a Yamaha zeal and front forks.. I did a stem swap and used a rg250 front guard. it's a good set up and was pretty straightforward. New master cylinder and braided lines. Carbs were replaced with rg250 flat slides which fired up second kick and the bike idles lovely motor sounds great.
This is it after just a week all I have to do now is sort a speedo indicators and some other bits of wiring..

just need to click on the links and they show... always better to use IMG tags and put em in the post, but hey this works for me...
Re: Rz350 with a few mods
Just be aware that external links could be trouble. Why not use the IMG tag?

I've just added an extension so people can easily use postimage.org to display pics here.
Use the "Add image to post" button below the editor:

It should automatically insert the link to the image after you upload.

Re: Rz350 with a few mods
Thanks yeah I become obsessed.. I can't stand having things undone.. At the same time I was building a custom crank case inducted blaster motor.. Which I also finished.. The rz has how ever had a break it needs wiring sorted out as the harness was a mess when I got it.. I can't seem to get 12v to the bike.. But I'm just gonna get another one u can chase electrical gremlins for ever
