Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
nah the worst thing is the feeling you get just before you click the PAY button on paypal haha
I just have to cringe, and squint my eyes so that it looks like there are less zeros in the number haha
speaking of which, I just did that then when I bought a CNC'd racing head and a wiseco piston

Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
just bartered my way into selling my CRM forks and buying some Husky SMR marzochi forks with brembo caliper and m/c....
should work a treat with the marzochi wheels...
should be interesting to say the least...
just have to make a final decision about whether to do it in the next week or so.

Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
wheels, discs and sprockets are all sold
that was a nice little fund injection for the project,
was lucky and managed to score a calliper adapter on supermotojunky.com that allows me to use a 320mm disc and brembo goldline calipers

Its official,
I have found the new optimum fork swap for the crm250
cheers NGK and bruce.
fits straight in top triple clamp, and just need to bore bottom triple out by 1mm

Iv got my marchesini wheels in the post, and ordering a disc this week.
frame is completely stripped down for cleaning

engine is going back together this weekend

Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
Mate, you are powering along !!! Great stuff.
Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
cheers buddy,
Its a great learning experience, by the time Im done here I should be able to fly up to newcastle and finish off my KTMito with the skills learnt
another damn job to add to the list, have to modify the airbox as the larger carb will not even come close to fitting, not sure what to do here but it might involve a custom larger airbox made from some nearly cut, interlocking Corrugated plastic and silicone.

or perhaps something simple like cutting the current connection off and adding in a new larger piece via plastic welding or silicon.
the PWK38 carb turned up last nite so it got a very good cleaning, am very happy with it
just impatiently waiting for my crank to turn up! damn australia post, I hope it comes tomorrow!

Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
Got most of the bottom end done tonite, basicly just need to get myself a larger socket to torque the clutch basket, and a rattle gun/loctite for the alternator and primary gears

Re: CRM250AR full rebuild from the ground up
Ok
Braking will be now taken care of by a 65mm brembo taken from a RSV1000 Mille, I picked that up off ebay for a song.
with some nice goodridge braided brake lines.
Im fuming, I missed out on a set of EBC race discs on ebay last nite, so now Im looking at getting an armstrong disc
I havnt heard anything bad about these and Iv done some serious internet trawling to find any bad reviews but all I found were positive responses and thumbs up
anyone know anything about these armstrong wave discs, they a decent price, less than 200 AUD including postage from england.

Iv just gota borrow a clutch tool and a larger socket set and some loctite so that I can finished off the bottom end.
Im forcing myself to take my time with this rebuild, and make sure I follow the manual after I made two blunders and had to spend time backtracking to fix them
Lozza is sending me down my marchesini wheels this week hopefully with my dunlop 155 slick, I decided I better use it soon before it expires, as the 380mito isnt finished yet.
anyhow, please let me know if anyone has experience with armstrong rotors????
