Best Fuel to Use for RZ250/350

Post by Lowflying »

Wondering what you guys use. Says "premium fuel only" on my tank sticker. Been using 98 but my mechanic says that he has found two strokes seem to work better on 95.

So, what are the pros and cons of 95 vs 98 in your experience?

I use 95 in everything even the lawn mower except 98 in the trackie. I think 98 is a bit of a cash grab.

98 is higher octane, but thats only useful if you can make use of it.... I also run 95 in everything as so far its not ethanol rich and also its a good standard fuel.

You might need 98 if your engine was modded to buggery, but 95 will do the job for less outlay with a standard donk. Even ordinary unleaded is ok for a commute bike but steer clear of ethanol fuels, they can have poor side effects on fuel system components.
